At Second Chance Computers, we have a passion for repurposing and reviving tech that has been discarded and giving it back to the community. As young as I can remember I always had a passion for taking apart and resembling computers. I got my first computer at the age of 4 and learned everything about them ever since. I'd bet if I knew more about computers I would still have it working today. In recent new Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will officially be ending support on October 14th 2025, which according to experts will cause the largest amount of e-waste of our time. It's estimated that over 240 million computers will be discarded in the coming years due to this.

According to Microsoft's standards and minimum requirements for windows 11, these computers go from usable to obsolete, forcing those who want security and regular stability updates to discard of their old one.
But it Doesn't Have to be this way...
There are other options outside of Windows 10, and at Second Chance Computers each computer comes equip with a fresh installation of Linux mint cinnamon, an operating system build of stability, ease of use, and compatibility. The amount of computer that have been repurposed dating back as far as 2009 is staggering. This just goes to show that Microsoft has lost the plot, to provide everyone an opportunity to use the internet without wasting resources. Second Spark Computers will gives these computers a second chance and give people a computer that will last.

And I believe that the e-waste crisis that's been happening around the world is going to be even worse after this discontinuation. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to use and own a computer, and with me and other like minded people, we can minimize the issue not only locally but worldwide. I'm not here for my own success, but to see the joy people receive when they get their first computer over and over again.
